Trinity’s session is composed of nine elders and the pastor.  At many Presbyterian churches, the elders are each assigned a specific area of programmatic responsibility.  However, at Trinity Wellsprings Church, each elder is concerned with providing spiritual oversight to all the ministries, while staff directors, deacons and commissioned leaders manage specific programs.

As the steward of Trinity Wellsprings Church’s Core Values, Values, and Beliefs, the Session meets two times each month.  At the Prayer and Discernment Meetings the elders and pastors spend time in Bible study, open-ended conversation, and extended prayer.  At Business Meetings they conduct annual ministry evaluations, consider motions, and prayer.  Additionally, the Session meets periodically to hear the testimonies of newcomers seeking to become members.  Elders also serve as commissioners to Presbytery meetings, our regional governing body.

The elders listed above are the current members of Session, along with the pastors.  Those who have served on the Session previously are considered elders for life, and are sometimes asked to assist the current Session members in serving Communion, attending Presbytery of Florida meetings, and giving pastoral care. Jeff Heath serves as the current Clerk of Session.
