Christmas 2020

What a historically challenging year! Thus, Advent 2020 provides for us a unique invitation to come to Jesus. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).

In this TWC Advent Devotional, you will find meditations on the NAMES and ATTRIBUTES of Jesus. Jesus is like a precious diamond that deserves to be examined from various angles to truly appreciate his beauty, his majesty, his compassion, and his redeeming love.

Advent means “coming”, and I pray this Advent Season that you would experience Jesus, bringing all his names and attributes powerfully into your life as you surrender to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords who still sits on the throne.

I am thankful for all of the TWC folks who penned words in this devotional. I trust you will be blessed as you come to Jesus every day during this season of Advent.

Let me encourage you in two directions:

  1. Before you read the devotional words, be sure you read the daily text of Scripture. Don’t jump too quickly to the penned devotional words because the Author of Life first has something to say to you in his Word. The Word of God always trumps human words.
  2. Meditate on the name or attribute of Jesus for that particular day. Sit quietly throughout the day with that attribute or name of Jesus. What does that name of Jesus mean to you? How have you experienced the attribute of Jesus in your own life?

Bethlehem! A manger! The incarnation! Jesus is coming. Are you ready?

I pray that Jesus may be born into your heart in a fresh, new way this Advent season.
